| Cronin House
This dwelling is currently under construction and
is being cut sensitively into the mountainous area of Gortnagraige overlooking
Mallow Town. Due to the dramatic views available the house is entered
at first floor level over a bridge like structure. A curved dry stone
wall forms the entrance façade and a glass link houses the feature
staircase. The stone is being extracted from the actual site. The lower
level of the house is constructed as a heavy battered stone element tying
the dwelling into its rugged context. The upper level is light and airy
and finished with glass and cedar. |
